New wine and chestnut festival

An invitation to a very special event. Fernando, one of the local community, invited Dick, Jan and I to his home for a celebration meal. The setting, in a collection of perhaps 20 dwellings, atop a high high was special already. The venue, a largish shed in his home was unique! 2000L of red wine stored around the garage, many many old tools and a dozen or so other guests. The feast consisted of a washing up bowel full of chestnuts, rabbit stew (together with the hunters) and potatoes, washed down with vino guardiana. At one stage, in plastic 5L mineral water containers, a chap delivered 40L of Aqua Vie! Many liqueurs, coffee and a memorable trip back on very hilly and winding dirt tracks.
