Hatch and cockpit floor board refurbishment (not)..

State of play

The board in really bad condition, sits at rear, I started to try and dissemble by cutting out ply with jigsaw and then trying to tease the hard wood edging away from plywood. No luck I am afraid, the edging had been routed and the ply cut to match, sort of t&g groove. Unfortunately the glue bond is still in very good condition and I cannot remove ply from the edging.

Grrrrr

So, what to do? Pondered this one long and hard, final finish plays a part in the decision. Path of least resistance is probably the best way for me, I don’t have the skills to make new edge pieces plus difficult to get materials in this lock down. OK, I’ll use some hard wood ply I have in stock, epoxy the edges and give it deks olje treatment. Hope it will be sufficiently non slip. Same for the engine hatch.
