NL/BE/UK road trip

Off in the morning, Dunkirk-Dover crossing and thence to Rye.

Clear run to Dunkirk, no border checks and straight through customs and passport control at Dunkirk.

British obsession, queued up!

Chatted to staff on board DFDS, nice chap, went to pay for meal – no charge. What a nice thing.

Ham and turkey pie.

Three days in Rye, saw Gary and Gitta, meal out, all seems ok with them. Drove Shrewsbury with a 1.5 hour traffic jam staying with Mark; visit to Ironbridge and the tile museum.

A tiled bar
A butchers shop.
Shropshire country side.

Drove down South to see Simon, easy run. Some shots of English idle for my Dutch readers.

Country ways (Goring on Thames)
Looking from the highest point on the Chiltern hills overlooking the Oxfordshire plains with the Cotswolds in the very far distance.
My 2nd mother’s (and her 2nd husbands) grave in Charlbury.
Old father Thames (Henley on Thames)
King William IV, an English pub….

Now down in Rye with my elder brother and wife, awaiting his son and Famile arriving from France for our Christmas meal.

Awaiting the fodder feed!

And so to Norfolk to see Peter and julie. Above pic with Percy, Julie’s horse near right.
