Update and passage planning to Gorinchem.

So, a look at some ships in Bruinisse, two HR36’sand then on to Rhoon hoping to look at a HR352 which was not possible internally as the broker said “one day next week”. I suppose that’s fair enough but I was sorry not to see the 352. It is the previous model to the 36 and has semi long solid keel. Also of note at Rhoon was inability to get to the restaurant! That 352 had been redecked and highly polished, it looked immaculate.

Blue skies October

Thence up to Dordrecht, sit out the strong winds forecast and do shopping. A new restaurant discovered, Biryani a good deal.

Tomorrow, Tuesday I plan a visit to Gorinchem, one of the more beautiful ports but it’s fairly complicated with a total of four bridges to coordinate, three of which need to be booked at this time of year. The inner harbour at Gorinchem has additionally works scheduled to start 21st October so a short stay of I think two nights.

From thence I could simply cross the Waal and visit Woudrichem, another suggested beatific port. The passage back will also require some detailed planning but let’s see how tomorrow goes first!
