Arrived De Kil Yacht Harbour

A few adventures today. Tucked in behind a commercial Gouda, just the huge barge and I. We’ll that was sort of OK, I was more or less managing his prop wash but what through me was the speed of the rise as well as the rise, 1.5M maybe. I guess they fill quicker for the commercial. So, I got a centreline on with a caribe a, double line, no bollards and a rear on a ring bolt. Ahh, all good, was seeing to fenders when I notice port rear line needs easing quick! I look, I pull, I see port quarter being pulled down, either cleat or structure will likely break. Grabbed knife and cut, phew, resulting spring forward impacted and bent pushpit. Anyway no damage. I rather think the warp was the short one that got caught around prop in Sweden so that’s a result. Used GPS autoroute (first time) and it tried to take me a different route on Rotterdam ring, into a not cul-de-sac with a bridge that didn’t want to open so retracted my steps. Perhaps an hour wasted. Reaction to this delay saw me having to wait 1:30 for a bridge on Rotterdam ring. Grrrr. So, weather not nice, pushed on and made De Kil marina, edge of Biese Bosche for 19:00. They say there will be days like these. Now the good news! Engine faultless, revs higher than it did prior to my fettling and whilst it does get hotter it no longer goes in the red, even at higher RPM.

I’ll post some pics when I get a WiFi, snaps of a different view of Holland.
