The Delta variant

It’s great that unlocking is happening but I do feel the threat posed by the Indian variant is a serious problem. 91% of UK cases are Delta with reports of 60-80% greater transmission and lower efficacy of vaccine. The Dutch monitoring system (https://www.rivm.nl/en/coronavirus-covid-19/virus-sars-cov-2/variants) reported 7 cases at its last update but based on a sample size of 1000 if I am reading the reporting correctly. WHO saying set to become dominant strain worldwide. Most of reporting focuses on Alpha and does not sufficiently reflect the, IMHO, very real threat to European economy and health posed by Delta. If I am right expect to see some hurried back peddling across the continent and the borses falling again.
