The qualification rounds are being sailed in NZ and I do look forward to watching this long drawn out series and so far never successfully competed for by UK, since its inception in 1851! It is what is called match racing, two yachts compete on a fixed course. Team Ineos, sponsored by Jim Ratcliffe, Chairman of the global fast growing manufacturing firm has reportedly put £110M into the campaign. This together with his investment in salmon spawning rivers (possibly controversial) does in my book, deserve wider recognition.
