A week working inWorkum!

Arrived Monday and started to strip off exhaust. Like most of things to do with exhausts it was a b… Jan arrived Tuesday lunchtime and it was obvious the engine would need to come out. Hoisted on boom no problem and then a day of “heating and banging, chiselling, hammering” followed by decision to cut the B off. OK, got it to Mr Hofman of Hofman Workum who could not have been more helpful. Turned it round in a day. Meantime I was gaily trying to get out a broken stud. Drilled it a bit, snapped the easy out in the hole, spent another day trying to drill it out and, well, it was a mess in the head! Help, I called Mr Hofman and he came over, worked metal magic the secrets of which I will not reveal. Suffice to say I was impressed. Fitted on the massively rebuilt exhaust unit, few slaps of the palm, put the engine back in, connected up and ran it. Damn, help, down to Dr Hofman for more metal magic. Today hung the alternator, blast, engine intermittently not turning on the starter button… Unhung the alt fault found at last to a relay. OK only affects bat 1,fiddled with it a bit and seems OK again. Cycled a few k doing shopping trips each day. Anyway a rock concert, small scale is on this evening, tent. I’ll go and have a look. Tot Ziens

Exhaust had pinhole leak. It was in any area not welded so no error by Mr Hofman.
