Pulpit back on.

Drains in pilot berth.

Well, weather over weekend was forecast as dry and bright 7-4 degrees. Made a command decision, forget everything else and do a bit of sikaflex on deck. Too cold, moisture content of wood too high, the job went wrong in mid flow when a chunk of old material came out of the cartridge and blocked my fine little tip! Bugger. Job was sanded, vacuumed, degrease and primed. OK, I’ll use one of those little sausage packs of sika, I have one that was on board, best b4 2018 but… Cut a nice fine point and got back to work. Splodge, the sausage polybag splits, sika blobs in all sorts of places. OK, plastic 12mm spatula, I won’t be beaten, spread it on, more dollops, hands black but.. At least some black has gone in the right place and stopping water penetration into the divinycell core followed by freezing temperatures is and has been high on my list. I don’t suppose I will have a dry core but when preparing I did see one place that truly looked as if had never been blacked, not even at build. Hmmm.

Teak capping more or less glued, we shall see if it holds. What they call in aviation terms secondary structure..
